Principal's Welcome

The staff at MRPA are committed to professional development so that we can provide the best offer for our children.

As executive head of Manchester Road it makes me proud to be able to introduce our amazing school community to you. Manchester Road is a fantastic place for children to learn, and I believe that children who come here enjoy being at school and are enthusiastic about their learning and their prospective futures.

Education is about so much more than academic achievement, and the ethos we promote here is one of respect for others and all the different skills, knowledge and understanding that the children bring to our school community. Everyone is different, and this is something which should be celebrated each and every day.

Our School Mission

Focusing on the best pedagogy and practice and reflecting on our work so it is constantly improving.

Manchester Road Primary Academy is a school whose focus is on each child as an individual, where the emphasis is upon every child achieving the very best that they can. Our core principles of Pride, Positivity and Politeness run through the whole of our school culture, and encourage the children to become caring and considerate members of our community.

We strive to make sure that all children succeed whilst here, and have an absolute belief that every child should have that feeling of coming to school with things to look forward to, with friends and adults they can trust, and the very best resources to help them learn.

Classroom Learning

Our Curriculum

The curriculum at Manchester Road is rich and varied. We pride ourselves on a curriculum which is designed to give children the very best knowledge and skills available. The curriculum considers the children's locality and context, whilst also ensuring they develop an interest and understanding of the wider world.

Our curriculum follows a sequence of lessons which are built upon across years, throughout each year and across subjects. To ensure the children have the correct knowledge and skills, the staff use a series of knowledge organisers which have been written and adapted by the staff in school. The knowledge organisers pick out the key areas for children to study, and allow the teachers to deliver learning effectively.
